Mojang responds and retains CMS Wistrand

Mojang's legal representatives responded to the demand letter two days before the deadline, confirming receipt and asking until the 24th of October to respond in full.

Update

Yesterday, 2 days before the deadline we had set for a response to the letter containing our demands, we received a response from Mojang’s legal representatives.

In short:

  • Mojang has assigned two lawyers from “CMS Wistrand” as their legal representatives, although note that CMS Wistrand are more of a collective of lawyers rather than one big law firm; sort of like a broker/directory that helps find legal representation I suppose?
  • They confirmed that our letter had been received
  • They need more time to go through the context of the case and talk with Mojang about how they should respond, claiming that they will respond on the 24th of October at the latest.
