The filings are complete
The filings were finalised after a final meeting with the lawyers, with submission targeted for the 19th of June at the latest, and the qualification criteria restated.
@everyone
The filings are complete
I’ve just hopped off the meeting with Björn; it took way longer than I would’ve ever thought to get to this point, but this is it, the filings are done!
As such, our lawyers will do a read through of the filings today one last time pre-file where the goal is to have it submitted on the 19th at the latest, should anything come up.
What happens next?
Once the filings and all annexed evidence (including the participation list that will be locked in at that point), the next step is for us to simply wait for the court to determine that the claim fulfils the necessary conditions to qualify as a class action lawsuit, at which point the court date is set and emails to the participants get sent out.
During the coming days I’ll work on translating the filings in English (the original is in Swedish for obvious reasons) so that it can be read by non Swedish speakers; though this will take me a few days as this is a 19 939 word document (excluding annexes).
Follow up announcements
Once their final read through is done, I’ll send another announcement when it has been submitted to the court; if all goes well and nothing gets caught in the final read through, that could be as early as tomorrow.
Given that the emails to the participants that met the criteria will only be sent once the court has determined that the case qualifies as a class action lawsuit, I’ll work with @Perny to get an email-check website up within a few hours haveibeenpwned style so that anyone can enter the email and confirm that their entry made it into the list. The website will be announced once live.
Reminder of the qualification criteria: Bought the game before the 10th of December 2013 (non inclusive, aka 9th at the latest), is a EU/EEA resident, bought the game while under 18 years old.
